You Used to Know How to Connect with Your
Adult Child
Now conversations feel tense, you second-guess everything you say, and there's silence where connection used to be.Â
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Estrangement between parents and adult children is happening more than you think.Â
More families than ever are dealing with distance, disconnection, and heartbreak.
When it's your family, it feels deeply personal:
- Like failure
- Like rejection
- Like something is broken
This isn't about being a bad parent.
It's about trying to navigate a relationship that doesn't work the way it used to.Â
Your adult child is in a different stage of life where they are forming their own identity, making their own choices, and seeing the world differently than you.
And today's culture only widens that gap.Â
What used to bring you closer now brings:
- Tension
- Distance
- Silence
The Real Problem Isn't What You Think
Most parents come in feeling like:
If they would just change, things would get better.
I just need to say the right thing so I don't make it worse.
I must have done something wrong.

Learn More
So you try harder…
- You explain more
- You think about every word
- You replay conversations over and over
But nothing really changes.
You end up in the same conversations with the same tension and same distance.Â
It's exhausting and confusing.
Because it feels like you're doing everything you can.
But the more you try... the more you feel stuck.Â

What's Included In The Bridge to Connection...
See the Patterns Keeping You Stuck
Right now, it probably feels like no matter what you do, you end up in the same situation.
You walk away from conversations, wondering how it went so wrong.Â
This is not random. Patterns live beneath the surface.
In Bridge to Connection, you'll learn how to:
- See those patterns clearly
- Understand your role in them without blame
- Step out of the cycle that keeps repeating
Because when you can see the pattern, you can finally stop repeating it.Â
Confidence to Handle Difficult Emotions
Sadness, fear, disappointment, even anger show up before you have time to think.Â
Most parents either:
- Get overwhelmed by their emotionsÂ
- Try to push them down and hold it together
But it leaks out anyway, in your tone, body language, or silence.Â
Inside Bridge to Connection, you'll learn how to:
- Move through emotions without getting stuck
- Stay steady even when things feel intense
- Understand what your emotions are trying to communicate to you.
So you don't keep reacting in ways you regret later.Â
Manage Unmet Expectations
You had hopes for your child and your relationship.
And now... it's different.
That gap between what you expected and what is can feel heavy.Â
And if you don't know how to process it, this shows up as:
- Tension
- Hurt
- Disappointment they can feel
In Bridge to Connection, you'll learn to:
- Process the disappointment without it taking over
- Let go of what you can't control
- Stay open to connection, even when things don't look how you planned.
So that you're not stuck in what should have been while the relationship keeps slipping away.Â
Â
Communicate in a Way that Builds Connection
Hard conversations are where most relationships break down.
You want to say the right thing but it comes out wrong.Â
Or you avoid the conversation and nothing changes.Â
Â
In Bridge to Connection, you'll learn how to:
- Have honest conversations without escalating conflict
- Listen in a way that helps your child feel understood
- Say what matters without pushing them away
And most importantly:
You'll learn how to show up in a way that builds a stronger relationship over time.Â
This is the Work
Right now it probably feels like your adult child will have to do this work or nothing will change.
That is not true.
When you learn how to show up differently:
- Tension lowers
- Conversations feel safer
- Reactions soften
Not because you force anything...
but because you're no longer stuck in the same cycle.Â
This is not about fixing your child.
It's about becoming the kind of parent who can:
- Handle hard conversations
- Stay steady in discomfort
- Stay connected while holding onto your values
When you change, the relationship begins to change too.Â
If you're ready to stop repeating the same patterns and start creating real change, join Bridge to Connection.Â

I'm Tina Gosney
I’m Tina Gosney, a Family Conflict Coach and Family Life Educator and the creator of Bridge to Connection. I help parents repair and strengthen relationships with their adult children.
Over a decade ago, I nearly lost my own relationship with my children. That experience forced me to face the painful patterns that had been repeating in my family and decide whether I would continue them or change them.
I chose change.
Today I help parents move beyond fear, guilt, and blame so they can show up with clarity, steadiness, and compassion. My work focuses on helping parents understand the emotional patterns shaping their family relationships so they can create meaningful change that ripples through the entire family.
"I have an increased clarity of what is going on inside of me and am able to show up so much better for myself and the people in my family."
- Gina
"I love how Tina never told me I was doing anything wrong, but simply helped me see things differently and how I could improve my reactions. "
- Christina
"My relationship with my daughter was falling apart. This program really helped me not feel alone as I was letting go of expectations and unproductive thinking."
- Susan
